Fahion Book Must Have!

Blow By Blow: The Story Of Isabella Blow

Isabella Blow was the queen of out of the box fashion and styling. Now their is a biography on her and her life. If you love eccentric people you must buy this book if nothing else to look at the fashion worlds leader in abstract fashion. Isabella was a true inspiration to me and I feel for anyone independent thinking in fashion and in life!

Innovative Designer Philip Treacy!!

It must be in the water over in England but the produce most of my favorite designers! I love how most of the innovators in fashion are English. Well one of my favorites is the hat designer Philip Treacy, he is a genius, a innovator, and in a sense my muse. I know a famous designer as your muse well it's the works of art that he creates. The hats he designs are things that are born in dreams, fantasy, future, and nightmares. I just wanted to let the world know how he is truly an artist of his millinery craft. I took a class in hat making in the fall and as corny as it sounds it was life changing. When creating a hat you get in this zen work mode as well as creative, anything is possible in hat creation. Clothing design and or construction can be fun but can be very stressful and not always do you have the tools to create your vision. I also like the fact that in hat making most of it at least for me was done by hand so it gives you a true sense of pride and accomplishment. Philip Treacy keep up the amazing work you have a huge fan in the states!

Pre Fall Fashions "Bourgeois Lifestyle"

Fall 2011 will truly be exciting to see the emphasis on upper class elegance and sensational fabrications such as silk, fur or faux furs, and Chiffon's with tailored jackets, structured skirts, and come hither dresses. The best way to describe fall 2011 looks is "The Structured Class". I notice hint of Russian aristocraticy, 50's silhouettes, and turn of the century men suites for women! So many time periods are taken to create Fall 2011 but I do notice that colors seem to be brighter than usual for the Fall season. Matte colors are reoccurring again but with a pop of green, and blue.

Hem lines will be longer more to the knee and goddess like, so the usual party dress might not be the look of the season but instead a long more elegant dress might be the talk of the party.

Native American inspiration Hair for 2011 Spring

It seems that I was right about the Road Warrior hair trend! The Native styling of the American Indian seems to popular in hair trends this season. These hair adages seem to be popping up in ads as well as in some circles in the U.S . Though I have noticed the bulk of the trend seem to be on the west coast of the United States it is becoming wide spread as well. I do think it is a neat trend but strongly feel that people can go over board and look like a flock of birds attacked their hair. So instead of to much feathers or even wild colors tone it down and keep it simple. I also challenge those interested in this trend or maybe even fad take at Native American tribes and gather a new retrospect for the art of feathering ones hair! Please also remember that feathers should be steamed and not washed so please don't wash you feather unless instructed otherwise!!

New Fashiolution!

What are some ways you are going to reinvent your self this New Year! 2011 is a great time for you to be that best fashion forward person you can be! The easiest thing you can do is to know what you will and will not wear, as well as what fits your personality and body type! I am all about starting over and of course being changed but not everyone can wear certain looks because it can look like your trying too hard. The worst thing you can do with fashion is to go over board or to look like you just don't care! Again remember there is a time and place for certain looks!

Girly Girls try
  • Dressing up hair with bows and flowers
  • Try blunt bangs mixed with wavy hair
  •   Emphasizescurves or create them with stretch cotton mini skirts paired with blazers and a blouse
  • Use the era of the 1950's wear knee lengthed baby doll dress
Rebel Wild Child
  • Change hair color
  • Buy more accessories with animals such as owls, snakes or deer antlers
  • Plain t-shirts with jeans matched with a biker jacket
  • lace dresses and combat boots
  • trade black eye liner for brown and nude tones
Sporty
  • Try patterned tights
  • Detailed sneakers
  • Safari shorts with button up pocket blouses
  • pixie hair cut, or asymmetrical hair cuts
It's a start and you don't have to be these type of girls to take some of these items and use them as inspiration for new look all this list is , is a brain storming tool!

I my self will be trying the grey hair ! So I'll keep you posted on the out come!
