Calling all Mesh, Shear and Lace for Spring 2011

Well it looks like more and more as we approach the up and coming new year we are faced with some interesting fashions. The word Deja Vu comes to mind when watching runway shows or looking at pictures of them. The see through separates, jackets, and dresses remind me of the 80's with a 90's twist. I think it's funny though that this transparent trend seems to lack any originality. I would have had  more respect for this trend if it did not emulate the era of excess and grunge to an exact science.
Unfortunately, this will bring every jezebel from all corners of the world to feel that it's ok to wear your underwear out and about in the park in spring time. Let's remember that sexy is an attitude not a peep show. Also if you must dress in a lace see through ensembles wear it at night or layer it with a solid color. There is a fine line between  Fashionable and F**kable, and in this case let's stay classy not trashy.

Going Grey the New It Hair Style!

Who would of ever thought that the day would come when grey hair was a trend. Grey hair or grey streaks is a up in coming popular hair must have. We have seen starlets such as Kelly Osborne or Lady Gaga sport grey in their hair color, but now will it become mainstream. This whole grey hair trend is in it's introduction stage, so when will it be more popular, well that's on you. I personally love grey hair on older women, but I'm not sure I will be streaking my hair with grey anytime soon. Another aspect of  this hair dying trend is looking at your skin coloring and your natural hair color.

Remember if your not up to dying your hair this aged glorious hue then you can always buy a wig form your local beauty supply store but make sure you try it on. If your not into the wig idea you can also try to incorporate weave or hair extensions.

men's holiday fashion

Estee Lauder a Growing Brand in China

This well known cosmetic company is making strides in Beijing amongst many anticipating fans. This brand is expected to do quite well and to grow into a number one choice amongst consumers in China. This brand has very soft color's which I feel go well with all women. I am glad to see the brand branching out to all types of women, which is truly needed. Hopefully soon we can see all women as spokes models for the brand.

Thanksgiving is Here , Time to prepare for the Winter Holiday Celebrations

Turkey day is hers so soon no matter who you are and what you celebrate your preparing for some celebration or another. So what gift's should you buy for the fashionable people in your life. In my opinion it depends on the age of that person and what their particular style is. I myself love costume jewelry, ethnic prints, hair accessories, and shoes! I would consider myself to be a funky dresser, I enjoy stepping outside the box.
I'm making a list to try and help those of you that are biting your nails at what to buy special people in your life.

The Difficult Diva/Divo
This person dislike most things you get them. You dread buying for this particular person.

This person you should only get a gift card! I hate saying that even doing that but let's be honest at least they will be able to buy what they want and be happy. Holidays are suppose to be happy make it easier on yourself and buy a gift card for their favorite store, a bank visa gift card, or a mall gift card to a mall that they frequent.

The Creative Free Spirit

They love anything unique and original. They are usually sentimental and like gifts that you might have made or that represent something important to them. The perfect gifts for these people would be; a t-shirt that you embellished with iron on decals, knitted scarves, pictures of them with friends in a framed collage, homemade candles in a decorated vase. All you need is time and a plan and you will touch this person with your creativity.

The "Don't Worry about Me's"

OK this person means well but usually annoys you. They like to say that its OK I don't want anything, or don't worry about it. I know you might think well they did say don't worry about it, wrong they want you to know what they want and be able to be a mind reader. We know most of us aren't so here's what you do, pay attention. I know it's funny but usually they will drop subtle hints of what they want or what they need and from there you can purchase this persons perfect present.

The above are the type of people in the past and present that I usually find are the most difficult. In the season of holiday shopping it is important not to loose your self , take a deep breath and go with your intuition or a gift card!

Macy's Brings the Style

Designer Karl Lagarfeld will be in the department store Macy's Fall 2011. Hopefully this will boost the already accomplished designer's sales as well as give Macy's a boost in sales too. If we are lucky this will make it easier to fashionable and stylish with a fair and reasonable pricing.

What to wear this New Year's Eve

Many of us plan all year for that time of the season that we stand up and say it's time for a change. Do we change our attitudes, do we change careers, or do we decide to reinvent ourselves all together. I don't make too many New Years resolutions but one that I truly indulge in is changing my look. I think changing your look is perfect because when you do, you then change your attitude as well. Let's face it when we feel attractive it exudes the confidence and ambition with in. Now most people think this means you can put on a dress that looks like Vegas threw up on. Ladies remember less is more and if you are the type that likes to make an entrance do a funky hair style or wear a fun hat. Gentlemen, please don't wear Armani Exchange t-shirts, sunglasses, or sneakers. Guys these are great looks for a weekend at the Jersey Shore but in no way are they appropriate for New Year's Eve. We all want to look attractive not too over do it or too in lack for a better word look like a "Douche Bag", . I created looks for both men and women that should at least inspire if nothing else what to wear and how to wear it.

Black Friday

Well "Black Friday", is upon us everyone, so get out your elbow and knee pads. This time of year it's where people will kill you for a simple teddy bear. The fashions this time of year are over done with enough glitter to make Liberache look like a plain jane.
The thing to understand is just because it's Christmas or New Years Eve doesnt mean you have to look like a walking fireworks display. If you have to do glitter anything, pair it with something plain like a leather jacket or a satin blazer. If you wear a glitter hat or head band dont wear to much braclets or necklaces. Look in the mirror before you get your holiday party on and remember to ask yourself," is this too much".

Pattern Making is so not fun!

Really not looking forward to my Pattern Making 2 class. You think I would be learning skills to draft a pattern and how to manipulate darts. Well, let me just let you know my prof is just plain insane. I guess I like the challenge, figuring it out on my own, but it is really difficult. I applaud those who find it a breeze, I truly do because it is a sort of skill. I myself seem to have to make up my own patterns, off of the drape I do off the form. Well, Ill keep pushing even if the prof is a ubber religious fanatic. Oh friday's, I dread you so, well off to class. I think ill try to upload hats that I made in my millenary class.

H&M Lanvin -Fashion Show

Already buzz about the garment pieces in the show! Make sure you check if it's coming to a city near you!

Japanese Fashion

Japanese fashion is so interesting to me there are so many styles it's hard to keep up. It looks like a explosion of different themes, ideas, and textures. The latest look for girls on the street is a cute type look called, "Kawai". I noticed that a lot of the girls seem to be rocking a bang with straight or curly hair. Denim shorts matched with stocking, knee highs, and tights are a trend currently. It is also very evident that fur, faux fur and swedish style sweaters are a hit. Women also are dressing fashionably in their 30's to late 40's with animal prints, wide leg pants, and long tailored jackets.

Sustainable Fashion: Will it Last?

Sustainable Fashion is growing more and more popular by the minute. The demand for recycled fabrications and organic fibers is surprisingly high. The sixties mentality to live at one with the earth is no longer considered a Hippie taboo. Now people from all walks of life are trying to do their part to be less wasteful and more recycle chic.
The obvious way to get more people in the go green attitude is to make beautiful sustainable, clothing! Trust me many Eco-friendly designers are making sustainability look so expensive and gorgeous. The market is even expanding over into shoes, jewelry, and other hard goods.

If you ask me this is the future of fashion! Fashion needs some fresh ideas, more innovations in fabrications. It's time to create history! Fashion is a science and science is in fashion.

Think, an old t-shirt that you can put into your garden and it grows flowers. I know it's funny but how awesome would that be!

Confidence is Key in Standing Out in Fashion

I was browsing, reading blogs on fashion here in America and over seas, specifically England and wow is the word. Looking at the photos and reading the comments, I really laughed at this renewal or  longing for individuality in fashion. Researching Fashion you ask yourself what is original, can you name something in fashion that hasn't been copied. I am sure you can put things together to make them somewhat different but it still comes from something already made or a past idea. Even Alexander McQueen who is one of my favorite designers (rest in peace) used history and politics of the past in several if not all his collections. In order to be a fashion innovator you have to know the past and create and learn to make a better future of fashion. The greatest designers use a reference and so should all of us in our life, especially when we dress. What makes us stand apart from one another is our attitudes, our personalities. If you have the confidence and right attitude you will turn any outfit into an expression of individualism.

Congrats to Rachel Zoe Fashion Stylist

Well it has been confirmed that Rachel Zoe is pregnant. Rachel and husband Roger have been talking about building a family for years and now their wishes have come true. If Rachel has a girl that will be one lucky kid, all that Chanel!

What about the Men!

My dear fellows don't have nearly enough attention to fashion in the U.S. as they do over seas. Unfortunately, it seems most are confused to what to wear and how to wear clothing period. It is a detriment that inspiration doesn't come form the runway but instead fads instilled upon by celebrity figures. Honestly it's ashame that if a guy in America happens to be fashion forward he is considered a homosexual. This is a common problem I feel amongst most men and enable them to really reach their full fashion potential. So put away those ignorant facades of fashion men and go for it.

The GAP's new Holiday focus

We are so used to The Gap holiday commercials containing fun dance and music. This year The Gap seems to have a focus on the emphasis of charity. Bravo to that, not only will they promote their own sales they are promoting the charity aspect of the holiday season.

Die Antwoord - Evil Boy (Explicit Version)

What you should know about trend!

Everyday it seems that their is someone or something out their, telling you whats hot. Well the most important thing in your closet should be the necessities! What might this be you ask, simple the "classics". Classics are things that never go out of style or fashion. A couple of pairs of denim jeans, white button up shirts, a simple black dress, and pearls are a must. I also believe it's good to have a variety in accessories, they can dress up an out fit and give it a new look.
Another thing to remember is that not all trends will look good on you or even fit your body type. Please ladies and gentlemen be aware of what is your actual size and not what you think your size is or should look like. The thing to remember when dressing is that you are a representation of your self and it matters. Walking out the house with a muffin top, or even toes that hang over your peak-a-boo high heels are not very attractive.
Classics are a way to make your life in troubled times easier not only on your wallet but even getting ready day into night.

ROAD WARRIOR: Trend Hair for African American Hair

Mad Maxx Return to Thunderdome, one of my favorite costume and hair movies. It's wild trible awesome. It's time to go natural girls, get wild, get crazy let it free, your hair that is! This style honestly can be for any one is you know how to cut hair or style it right. I have a thick very tightly curled hair so I like to use bobby pins and a light hair dressing cream or moisturizer. You can also use promade, hair gel, but bobby pins are a must and if you have curly hair make sure you moisturize your hair with a mask, the more natural the better.

Alway's Knew BCBG was not creative!

So a law suit is pending against BCBG by the world renowned fashion house of Givenchy for Copy writting their "Nightingale Gale Bag"! I think that's a new time low though the copyright laws with fashion differ from America and Europe. Sorry BCBG don't mess with the big dogs or else you'll get torn apart!
