Roberto Capucci: Fashion Meets Architecture

Roberto Capucci
A man of great genius, who creates art and turns it into fashion. I am quite amazed almost moved at his designs as well as his use of color. In mid March his works will be on display in Philadelphia at the art museum near me so I am quite excited!
Even if your over seas or just not able to make it up to the Philadelphia area, you can see his works on a plethora of sites, along with his biography, and professional background.

I have found images of his works that I love so much, but I would be a liar if I didn't think all his creations were masterpieces! I hope future designer take a page from the beautiful styling's of Roberto and step out side the box of fashion normalcy!

Fashion or Offensive

Beyonce looking fair almost washed out
Beyonce has sure got her self into a mess with her march 2011 issue of  L’Officiel 90th anniversary mag. Supposedly the shoot was a tribute to a Nigerian musician Fela Kuti. It was also said that this shoot would be a chance for the pop artist to get in touch with her African roots!

Well, if that was the case then maybe she would take out her weave and went natural and used minimal make up. I understand artistic expression but most African tribes from my knowledge use clay, ash, or other natural elements as tribal paint! Speaking as a racially diverse individual I find her a terrible role model or idol for women of color anywhere. Women anywhere in the world should have a sense of pride about their cultural background and not try and hide it because it's not in fashion.
I find the most attractive people are the ones with a sense of confidence in themselves and their own unique look. I have some pictures of African tribal painted faces, beyonce from her infamous shoot, and then beyonce when she is out and about! The fashion community as a whole should not only do better research on peoples of another country but also maybe not be so laisse-faire about the actual pictures. Fashion can have a message and a power with out being so 1840's!
An actual tribal face paint

Actual face paint in white, skin color is black not painted!

How Short is too Short for Shorts!

Maybe I am secretly an old lady in the body of a 20 something but short shorts bother me! Now I am quite understanding and can admit some girls can pull the look off some what. I personally have a friend who looks cute in them matched with knee highs or textured tights! Unfortunately, not every girl who wears this look is 4' something and 90lbs.
If I didn't admit that skinnier girls looked better than any other size in short shorts, but I still find them to be tacky about 90% of the time! Usually they are a denim material and have distressed detailing to them! Fashion choices, whether we see it or not tell a story or give an impression! When you wear such short shorts out and about in normal day activities usually the girl is perceived as an a plethora of stereotypes!
Short shorts are find to wear at the beach, and if your tone and in shape fine to wear to a night club but just not in day to day settings! I feel as a woman that their are so many other ways to feel sexy and stylish in warmer climates than to have your lady parts almost in plain view.

Another thing to consider is your age too! The older you are wearing them the more desperate it seems you are! I would even all together like to rid the world of them period, but it seems almost impossible! Remember ladies that almost always less is more, and no matter what you are sexy with out those short shorts!

Better choices in shorts for warmer weather is
Bermuda shorts or short that hit mid-lower thigh!

London Fashion Week!

London is showcasing their fashion week today! I must be honest I love London fashion week, what I am seeing from the designers I LOVE e. London is so diverse in designers and styles that their fashion shows are amazing and so exciting. I know, I live so close to NYC why London, right? Well the people their are just so interesting, but also I think for me it's the story behind their style. A good example is the late Alexander McQueen and the talented designs are based on history and socio-political events! You have to love great fashion and a great story behind it. Well enough off my rambles take a look for yourself at the beauty London fashion week brings.
